For most webmasters the most important word is “traffic”. Web traffic is the lifeblood on the Internet. You could have a great website, and a perfect sales letter, but if you have no traffic, no one sees them and no one buys.
Many people put up a website, and then have no clue how to drive web traffic to it. Some ways are;
1/ Do some booking on social sites. But don’t over do it, and don’t out and out advertise.
2/Start your own blog. This seems like the fad right now, but it will draw web traffic.
3/ Post on other people’s blogs. When you do, make sure you have something useful to post. And then use your signature file.
4/ Make a video. Most people like this because it makes you a person and not just a name.
5/Take part in forums, but only if you have something useful to say, and use your signature file.
6/ Write and distributed articles.
Do all of these and you will drive web traffic to your website. But how do you know where the traffic is coming from.
What you do is make a different landing page for each campaign. One for articles, another for forums and so on.
Now the best traffic analyzers you can get is free and, right at your website. To get to the cpanel, usually it’s website domain/cpanel. And then you use the Id and password you used when you signed up.
Once you are in to cpanel look for an icon named logs or something similar. They should have overall logs as well as page-by-page logs. You scroll through them, and see which landing page is taking the most hits. This will give you some idea on how to improve your web traffic machine. You should be doing a website traffic analysis on a regular basis.
